LAC Workshop April 11, 2020

The New Hampshire Rivers Council and the NHDES Rivers Management and Protection Program present the 2020 Local River Management Advisory Committee Workshop!

The two main topics of the 2020 LAC Workshop is the newly implemented Wetlands dredge and fill rules and culvert assessments around New Hampshire. A complete agenda is listed below, and the $5 workshop fee will help cover the cost of the included lunch.

New in 2020! DOOR PRIZE of a Protected River sign for the LAC with most members attending as a percent of active LAC members on the roster. So encourage your fellow LAC colleagues to attend and take this sign home with you if your LAC wins.

In honor of the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day this year, we will be making this workshop as sustainable as possible. Meeting materials will be available electronically to allow that tree that would have been cut down for paper to continue absorbing carbon, and use of disposable food service items will be minimized.

New Process for LAC Review of Wetland Permits

New Wetland Dredge and Fill permitting rules, Env-Wt 100-900, went into effect on December 15, 2019. These new rules change the way LACs and LRSs will review many types of wetland impact projects. A guidance document is posted below. This guide will be updated as questions arise, clarification is needed, and additional rule changes are promulgated.

2019 LAC Survey Results

Thank you to everyone who participated in the LAC survey! The opinions, comments, and suggestions of LAC volunteers are key to making the Rivers Program a continued success and ensuring that program staff are providing the support and tools they need. As an initial response, the Rivers Program drafted a document that compiled and analyzed all of the survey responses, as well as a short, one-page summary that includes how the responses will guide our work with the Rivers Program. These can be found below.
