Driveway Berms in Franklin 2019

Wayne in Franklin has been building berms (raised up areas perpendicular to the driveway) with bank-run gravel to prevent his driveway from washing out.

The berms capture and prevent rain water from washing down the gravel driveway to the road. This not only helps prevent water pollution by preventing sand and sediment from heading into the Pemigewasset River, but it saves Wayne from having to purchase gravel year after year to rebuild his driveway.

Wayne created two more berms closer to the road to prevent rain water and driveway material from washing onto the road.
