2014 Draft 303 (d) List of Impaired Waters comment period deadline is Dec 11th

A reminder that the deadline for public comments on the 2014 Draft 303 (d) List of Impaired Waters is Dec 11, 2015.

In accordance with Sections 303(d) of the Federal Clean Water Act, the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (DES) has prepared a list of impaired waters in New Hampshire that require a Total Maximum Daily Load study (i.e., the 303(d) List). The purpose of this document is to provide guidance for submitting comments on the draft 2014 303(d) List of Impaired Surface Waters.

If you haven’t already, you may want to view the list relative to your watershed and respective lakes, ponds, rivers, and stream Assessment Units to make sure the new list makes sense and reflects current conditions.

The draft list, maps of impaired waters, and list of waters removed since 2012 are at:

The request for comments is at: http://des.nh.gov/organization/divisions/water/wmb/swqa/2014/documents/2014-cmts-gde-drft-303d.pdf

Thanks, Barb
