Join us beginning Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2016 for Community Training in Ecological Design – Creating Resilient Communities through Low Cost, Accessible Permaculture Design Solutions and Strategies that work with Nature (4-part series) .
Steve Whitman, Stacey Doll, Lauren Chase-Rowell, and Mary Tebo Davis will lead you through an innovative training on Ecological Solutions for.NH Communities. Developed from the full Permaculture Design Certification course curriculum, the training is geared toward community leaders (staff and volunteers), planners, and commission members to provide the necessary tools to plan, design, and develop a more resilient and sustainable future for your community’s infrastructure and economy while working in harmony with the natural world.
Utilizing Permaculture Design Principles, you will be led through a series of conversations, participatory activities, case study field trips, and a design charette to introduce the ecological design process. Participants will learn how integrated design stacks functions and addresses: biodiversity, secure food production models, water and energy systems, appropriate technologies, and adaptation planning and cooperation to help overcome barriers. Each participant will leave the training with tools and skills to work as an ecological designer within their community and on their own property to provide solutions for a better tomorrow.
