Request for Qualifications

The Lake Winnipesaukee Watershed Association has been awarded funding from NHDES through a grant from Section 319 of the Clean Water Act, for development of a Watershed Restoration Plan for Lake Waukewan and Lake Winona, Meredith, NH.

The Waukewan watershed includes three different sites impacted by nonpoint source pollutants which are listed on the state’s current 303(d) list of impaired waters: Waukewan Lake, Waukewan Town Beach and Winona Lake.  The proposed watershed restoration plan development effort will evaluate existing lake and tributary quality data, current and future watershed conditions, and in-lake status to determine the sources and causes of lake quality impairment.  The completed watershed restoration plan will provide recommendations for non-structural and structural approaches for reducing current and future sources of phosphorus to the lake.  It is anticipated that the project will begin in late summer of 2013.
