Textiles Coated International, Inc. (TCI) notified NHDES in October 2016 that it would being to connect seven properties in Amherst to public water in the fall of 2016. These properties’ wells were impacted with PFOA and are located within close proximity to the existing public water lines and/or will require a short extension of the public water lines. TCI had previously indicated they would fund preparation of a design and bid specification package for construction of a public water line to the remaining residents in Amherst receiving bottled water, based on the detection of some private drinking water wells within that area having concentrations greater than 70 parts per trillion (ppt) of PFOA and PFOS combined.
