Webinar: Preparing Your Stormwater Management Program or SWMP
March 21, 2019, 1:30-2:30 PM EST
By July 1, 2019, small Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) permittees in Massachusetts and New Hampshire must prepare a written Stormwater Management Program, or SWMP, that describes the activities and measures they will implement to meet permit requirements. Simply put, the SWMP is a permittee’s plan for meeting permit requirements. EPA is hosting a webinar with permit staff to discuss the questions related to SWMP development.
During the webinar we will cover:
• SWMP Basics: what is a SWMP, why it’s necessary, and how it differs from the Notice of Intent (NOI)
• Some benefits of maintaining a complete and up-to-date SWMP
• Tips for success in preparing and maintaining your SWMP
• Tools and resources for compiling a SWMP, including how to use the SWMP Templates
In Advance of the Webinar
We encourage participants to review the February 2019 issue of Massachusetts Stormwater News in advance of the webinar. It provides useful background and highlights many of the tools available for use in SWMP preparation. It is available on the Massachusetts Small MS4 General Permit website found at: https://www.epa.gov/npdes-permits/massachusetts-small-ms4-general-permit .
We also encourage participants to check out the many tools, including customizable templates, Standard Operating Procedures, and protocols, on the Stormwater Tools in New England, SWMP Resources webpage found at: https://www.epa.gov/npdes-permits/stormwater-tools-new-england#swmp .
Submit Your Questions
Contact Samantha Couture at email@example.com with questions about the webinar or to submit questions about SWMPs for the Q&A session during the live webinar. We encourage attendees to send them in advance and we will answer as many as time allows during the webinar.
