The new MA and NH MS4 permits and the 2003 Small MS4 General Permits contain requirements for mapping municipal stormwater system infrastructure. Does your community have work to do to meet the requirements of the 2003 permit? Do you need to complete the mapping of your stormwater outfall locations? Are you a new MS4 community? Do you only have paper maps of your system and outfalls? We invite you to an upcoming EPA webinar for some simple and practical tips for completing this task. Who Should Attend: Town officials, public works staff, water and sewer staff and others responsible for stormwater management, particularly the requirements associated with mapping. No GPS or mapping experience is required. What Will I Learn? Focusing on the use of low-cost, hand-held GPS units to locate outfalls and verify their condition, you will learn: • the basics of GPS, including the many benefits of electronic mapping, • how to collect information about system outfalls, • how to import data into a spreadsheet for your own recordkeeping, • how to create simple stormwater outfall maps using Google Maps and the MassGIS MuniMapper While this webinar will not offer in-depth mapping requirements per the new MA 2016 permit and NH 2017 permit, we will briefly highlight the new mapping requirements and direct you to a variety of additional resources to help you with permit compliance. We will also describe EPA’s on-site GPS training and Equipment Loan Program.
