Cobbetts Pond Improvement Association Installs Several Stormwater Management Practices!

The Cobbetts Pond Improvement Association (CPIA) recently completed installation of four raingardens, an infiltration swale, and two 1000 gallon infiltration catch basins in the Fossa Road Subwatershed on Cobbetts Pond. The BMPs are designed to reduce sediment and pollutant loading to Cobbetts Pond.  See a few photos below of the completed raingardens designed to infiltrate and treat runoff from Hawley Road in Windham.  CPIA worked in partnership with the Town of Windham and local homeowners during the project. The installations were funded through a Watershed Restoration Grant from the NH DES 319 program and through generous local matching contributions. Design work was completed by Geosyntec Consultants, Acton, MA and construction work by Hopkinton Forestry and Land Clearing, Henniker, NH.  These installations also complement previous work conducted by CPIA as part of a Supplemental Environmental Project to reduce sediment loading in the lower portion of the watershed.  At least two additional stormwater management practices are slated for installation later this summer.

Congratulations to all at CPIA, the Town of Windham, local residents, and Derek Monson, CPIA Project Manager for a job well done on these great BMPs!!!
