Saving the Rain: Green Stormwater Solutions for Congregations

Please join EPA’s Office of Wastewater Management for a free webcast on the EPA guide, Saving the Rain: Green Stormwater Solutions for Congregations. A key tenet of many congregations is reverence and respect for nature. This guide was written to help congregations identify actions they can take to care for the environment—starting with their own properties. This guide provides information on designing, building, and maintaining raingardens, downspouts, rain barrels, green roofs, permeable pavement, and other conservation landscaping techniques. The guide also includes key tips on engaging congregation members and community stakeholders to build support for projects. During this webcast, Robert Goo from EPA’s Office of Wetlands Oceans and Watersheds and Naomi Edelson with the National Wildlife Federation will highlight how congregations can use the guide to manage stormwater runoff and promote conservation on their properties. Congregation leaders and conservation managers will share their perspectives on environmental stewardship and discuss their own experiences using the guide to improve congregation grounds.
