EPA is launching a new free “Soak Up the Rain New England” webinar series, starting next Tuesday, April 5th.  Part of the first session will include New Hampshire’s own Jillian McCarthy talking about Soak up the Rain New Hampshire.

EPA Soak Up the Rain Campaign: Anne Leiby and Cindy Brown, Office of Assistance & Pollution Prevention, U.S. EPA, Region I.

EPA launched Soak up the Rain to raise public awareness and encourage action to address stormwater runoff and to highlight the benefits of green infrastructure and the importance of citizen action.   Learn about program resources and tools you can use to support your public outreach campaign.

Soak Up the Rain New Hampshire: Jillian McCarthy, New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES).

Soak Up the Rain New Hampshire (SOAK) is a voluntary program, managed by the New Hampshire Department of Environmental Services (NH DES), with the goal of protecting and restoring clean water in the state’s lakes, streams, and coastal waters from the negative impacts of stormwater pollution. Jillian will provide background on the SOAK NH Program, highlight examples of completed projects, and discuss lessons learned in implementing successful local stormwater management programs.

Soak Up the Rain Pioneer Valley: Patty Gambarini, Pioneer Valley Regional Planning Commission (PVPC), Springfield, MA.

Soak Up the Rain Pioneer Valley is a program to help reduce the impacts of stormwater runoff from homes and businesses in the Connecticut River basin.  Patty will present the various activities conducted under Soak Up the Rain Pioneer Valley to date and how the program can help meet some of the new Massachusetts MS4 storm water requirements.
