Oooo…that Smell: The Sewage Sniffing Dogs are in NH & ME Next Week!!

The sewage sniffing dogs are going to be in town next week! Due to an unexpected illness with one of the dog handlers, we had to reschedule the sampling that was supposed to take place this week. Here is the updated schedule of where we will be next week.  We would love for you to stop by and see the dogs in action!  I have included start times and locations and outreach event times and locations but if you want to meet us in the field, feel free to call me on my cell phone at (603) 343-6311 and I’ll let you know where we are.

 Monday, July 29: Portsmouth, NH. Meet at 10 AM at the Portsmouth DPW offices; Outreach event at South Mill Pond Playground from 2-4.

Tuesday, July 30: York and Ogunquit, ME. Meet at Long Sands Beach Bath House in York at 10 AM; Outreach event at the York Police Department from 2-4. Samples will be collected in Ogunquit on the Leavitt Stream and brought to the outreach event for “sniffing.”

Friday, July 31: Kittery, ME and Rye and North Hampton, NH. Meet at Fort Foster Park in Kittery, ME for outreach event from 10 -12 (sampling after); Meet at 12:30 or 1 pm at North Hampton State Beach (sampling also at Bass Beach in North Hampton and then on to beaches in Rye); Outreach event at Locals Restaurant  on Lafayette Road from 3-5 pm.

Thursday, August 1: Durham, NH. Meet at Durham DPW at 9 am. Outreach event from 2-3 pm at the Durham Town Landing.

Friday, August 2: Laconia, NH. Meet at Weirs Community Center at 10 am. Outreach event on Weirs Beach Boardwalk from 2-4 pm.
