16th Annual Cocheco River Sweep – canoe trip and river clean-up!

You Are Invited to A Canoe and Kayak Paddle on the Cocheco River From Farmington to Rochester, Saturday, May 11th, 2013 at 9 a.m.

If you are comfortable paddling a canoe or kayak on a spring morning, then this is the event for you. The Farmington Conservation Commission, the Cocheco River Watershed Coalition, UNH Cooperative Extension, Strafford County Commissioners, and the NH Department of Environmental Services have collaborated to provide an informative and enjoyable morning along the river.

We’ll launch from the Farmington Wellsite. Along the way John Nolan will tell us some recent history of the river. Emma Carcagno, Extension Wildlife Program Assistant, will speak about the wildlife we are apt to see and show us wildlife habitat along the way. We’ll pick up trash and enjoy the scenic river along the way.

Pre-registration is required. Please call 749-4445 or 516-8113 or email lorie.chase@unh.edu to sign up before noon on May 10
