Public Hearing Scheduled for Salt Reduction Bill – February 5th, at 11:30

A public hearing is scheduled for HB 523 – Voluntary Certification Relative to Salt Applicators.  To assist salt reduction initiatives while keeping our roads safe, this bill limits the liability of landowners and salt applicators who opt for certification and employ winter maintenance best practices.

The public hearing is scheduled for 11:30 a.m. next Tuesday, Feb 5 in LOB room 305.  If you can’t make it to provide in person testimony, the next best thing is to provide a letter of testimony and send it to all of the sponsors.

The Bill is at:  http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/legislation/2013/HB0523.pdf   More information and the e-mail addresses for the sponsors are at:  http://www.gencourt.state.nh.us/bill_status/bill_status.aspx?lsr=536&sy=2013&sortoption=&txtsessionyear=2013&txtbillnumber=HB523
