NH DES Presents Award to Wakefield Project Partners

In recognition of a job truly well done, NH DES presented an award last night to project partners working on the Brackett Road Stormwater Improvement Project in Wakefield, NH.  The Acton Wakefield Watersheds Alliance (AWWA), Town of Wakefield, Wakefield DPW, and the UNH Stormwater Center (UNHSC), installed multiple BMPs that will reduce stormwater runoff from Brackett Road and will improve the water quality of Lovell Lake by removing 6 tons of sediment and 70 pounds of phosphorus annually.

The Town and AWWA were instrumental in managing the project and ensuring that communication among all partners flowed smoothly. The Wakefield DPW and the UNH Stormwater Center worked hard to get the BMPs in the ground and on-line before winter. The project was on schedule and under budget thanks to diligent work by the DPW and UNHSC.

Great work everyone!
