Protected Instream Flow Study – Cold River
The protected instream flow study of the designated Cold River began in 2019, conducted by A draft Protected Instream Flow Study Report – Cold River is now available for public review. NHDES’ consultant, Gomez & Sullivan Engineers, Inc., completed the protected instream flow study and summarized the results in the draft Report in August 2021. The public is invited to review and comment on the report. NHDES held an Informational Meeting describing the report on Monday, September 27. View a recording of the meeting. NHDES held a Public Hearing on the draft protected instream flows on Monday, October 18, at the Alstead Town Hall, in order to solicit comments on the draft study. View a recording of the hearing. No comments were received during the comment period and the Protected Instream Flow Study was finalized. The draft Water Management Plan for the Cold River is being prepared by ISF Program staff, with public review and release planned for 2022. Protected Instream Flow Study – Ashuelot River
In Spring 2021, NHDES selected Normandeau Associates, Inc. from among three responsive bidders to conduct a pair of protected instream flow studies. The purpose of the studies is to develop protected instream flow criteria for the designated Ashuelot and Isinglass Rivers. Normandeau Associates, Inc. staff commenced the fieldwork components of the study of the designated Ashuelot River in September 2021. The draft protected instream flows and the draft Water Management Plan for the Ashuelot River are estimated to be complete in 2024.
