Protected Instream Flow Study – Cold River

The protected instream flow study of the Cold River began in 2019, conducted by  A draft Protected Instream Flow Study Report – Cold River is now available for public review. NHDES’ consultant,  Gomez & Sullivan Engineers, Inc., completed the protected instream flow study and summarized the results in the draft Report in August 2021. NHDES will hold an Informational Meeting regarding the Report on Monday, September 27th, from 7:00  to 8:30 pm at the Alstead Town Hall, located at 9 Main Street in Alstead, NH.

A Public Hearing regarding the proposed protected instream flow criteria will be held on Monday, October 18th, from 7:00  to 8:30 pm at the Alstead Town Hall, located at 9 Main Street in Alstead, NH. The comment period will remain open until November 17th at 4:00 pm. Protected Instream Flow Study – Ashuelot River

In Spring 2021, NHDES selected Normandeau Associates, Inc. from among three responsive bidders to conduct a pair of protected instream flow studies. The purpose of the studies is to develop protected instream flow criteria for the Ashuelot and Isinglass Designated Rivers. Normandeau Associates, Inc. staff will commence the fieldwork components of the study of the Ashuelot Designated River in September 2021.
