Denby Infiltration Steps at Wentworth Lake 2018
1. To prevent runoff from creating a scoured channel in the beach in front of his Wentworth Lake home, Dave Denby installed a set of infiltration steps.
2. The eroded pathway next to Dave Denby's boathouse before the steps were installed, as viewed from above.
3. The eroded channed formed by the runoff from the pathway next to the boathouse.
4. To get started, Dave removed some material, then installed the first timber to form the top step.
5. The completed top step, back-filled with drainage stone.
6. The next step prepped with the timber and lined with landscape fabric.
7. The second step completed and the third step prepped.
8. Six weeks later, the top step had accumulated some debris washing down from the yard. Like any other home project, the steps need occasional maintenance such as cleaning out debris to prevent them from clogging.
